Of Pygmies and Patriotism

He calls himself a pygmy.
Please excuse my untidy bedroom.

Our celebration was pretty low key yesterday since we just got home
from partying with the Stoners in New York.
(Funny how vacations are supposed to be relaxing
yet you feel exhausted when you get home. Isn't that kinda backwards?)

But we had classic American food to commemorate this nation's independence.
Steak, salad, watermelon, potatoes, good stuff.
And we were reminded of how blessed we are to live in this country.

It looked like this:

Mmm... So good. Nothing like cold strawberries in frozen ice cream.
Too bad we didn't think to buy blueberries.
Then we'd be more patriotic.

I'm grateful to live in the U.S.
Especially because of the many freedoms that are available as a result of so many men and women who have dedicated their lives to defending them.

Thank you, builders of this nation.
